The Cup quarter final UBWFC V was an illuminating match from start to finish. The first half was dominated largely by Durham who enjoyed a large percentage of possession, though BRISTOL'S defence worked tirelessly to keep them in the game. However, 2 excellent set pieces in the latter part of the first half from Durham put them 2-0 up at half time. A delightful corner effort from STELLA MORGAN re-energized Bristol early in the second half, tightening the score line to 2-1. However, Durham's excellent set- pieces were the decider, going on to win 5-1 with four goals coming from closed play. Nonetheless, Bristol continued to put up a valiant effort, putting in competitive challenges and even a couple of tactical fouls.(; Club Captain LIZZIE MOISAN even earned herself a booking after a particularly entertaining exchange with one of Durham's wingers; arguably unfairly as the foul was committed by a different player. Ultimately, despite a noble effort from BRISTOL, Durham were the better team on the day. Notably excellent performances came from several BRISTOL players, with the always brilliant BETTY PLATT earning herself player of the match and EVE RHIND awarded a special mention from none other than Bill himself.
