Devs began the first half of their storm against the Femgineers with a smooth start thanks to some beautiful passing between Nim and Katy, though the Femgineers soon intercepted, causing what would be the first of India’s many throw ins. After a bit of an intense back and forth battle, Katy pushed past with a strong attack attempting a goal which was unfortunately unsuccessful. After this followed about a million more throw ins from India but eventually a goal kick from the Femgineers led the ball to the other half. Sadly, despite excellent pressure from the devs, Rosie S in an attempt to defend the goal accidentally scored an own goal! The Devs quickly shook it off, however, and soon Katy had the ball again and powered forward getting close to the goal, but the other team managed to intercept. Rosie S was back dominating in defence allowing Katy to take a powerful shot which was unfortunately blocked. Femgineers took over and managed to gain themselves a corner which was unsuccessful thanks to Wendy who sent the ball down the pitch where Nim took a shot but sadly missed. The Devs did not lose hope as Wendy makes a lovely save and sends it back up to the attackers with a lovely pass from Zartasha to Katy leading to a Devs corner. Tensions were high as Nim took the corner but the Femgineers were not getting in Katy’s way as she bagged the Devs’ first goal!
Morale was high with the score at 1-1, but Devs wanted a win so they were attacking again stronger than ever. A free kick was awarded to the other team after one of their players tripped over Rosie S, which thankfully missed the goal by a country mile. Some more good defence from the Devs led to a corner from the Femgineers which was stopped in its tracks by a strong defensive kick from Nim and Asia continuously holding up the back line. The opposing team had a strong attack, countered by a save from Wendy, some lovely defending from Rosie S and Asia, and a controlled header from India. Rosie S made a gorgeous tackle and crossed to Katy who nearly scored! A brief restart occurred when the ref got hit by the ball (officially an accident) but the Devs were off again in no time with some lovely play from both attackers and defenders - a fantastic header from Rosie S, a great interception from Nim and some solid control from Asia despite being tackled. The Femgineers were awarded another free kick which was beautifully saved by Wendy. Some more excellent play led to yet another great shot from Katy which unluckily went just over the goal. The first half ended with the score at 1-1 after some intense pressure from Devs.
The second half kicked off in good spirits with Rosie O and Beth now gracing the pitch with their presence. It was off to a rapid start with the ball quickly being caught by Wendy sending it nicely to Katy, shortly followed by a goal kick from the Femgineers. The Devs managed to maintain the pressure, however, as quickly Devs were awarded a corner which Nim took beautifully but unfortunately went over the goal. Devs regain possession soon with Beth making a nice clean dribble up the line showing off the Dev skill! Some more intense back and forth ended in a goal kick from Wendy but the Femgineers get it back to the goal and take a shot which Wendy saves with ease. The Devs get their heads back in the game soon with a nice header from Nim closely followed by a header from Rosie O! The Femgineers gain a corner which is unsuccessful and Wendy sends it down the pitch to get Devs back on track. Another lovely header from Nim sees Devs nicely towards the goal with Rosie O pushing through their defence to Katy. Nim takes another corner leading to a goal kick from the Femgineers which Wendy counters with a goal kick soon after. A shock substitution was made as Nim came off from midfield and was replaced by Zartasha. The incredible midfielder Nim had been stepped on a few too many times so sadly had to come off for the last 10 minutes or so to rest their poor knees, despite being desperate to go back on after 5 minutes!  Asia makes a nice pass up the line to Beth and Devs manage to gain another corner which Katy takes, unfortunately to no avail. After a successful dive from Wendy and a lovely interception from Rosie O, Rosie O SCORES!! Unfortunately we still haven’t seen a backflip from her…
A quick scuffle at the goal and a save from the Femgineers ends the game at a fantastic 2-1 win for the Devs!!! Hopefully this means they’ll be bringing back the winning streak once more! The well-deserved POTM went to the amazing Nim Mudher for their incredibly skillful play.
