On a freezing Sunday afternoon down at Coombe, the 4’s were ready and raring to go to beat Bath Spa 1’s again after their 3-0 victory 2 weeks ago.

The match quickly took off with Lola P down the left wing, taking past a midfielder and 2 defenders all the way to the goal where the goalie saved it, but all within the space of 2 minutes post kick-off. Bath Spa were putting up a fight from minute 1, but struggled to get through our solid defense. Alice had consecutive great clearances, and Rosie eventually cleared the ball up the wing to Jemima N who took it nearly all the way before Spa decided to finally get a tackle in. When the ball wasn’t in our attacking end, it was being pressured well by Georgia in CDM. The first goal finally came from our star girl Lola P, who received the ball from a great pass by Jemima R. She chipped it over the goalie from close range and it was a calm and collected 1-0 to Bristol. It didn’t take long for Jemima R’s long range goal kicks to get us another goal, as Mona received it and ran all the way down the middle of the pitch and got a great shot off that gave us a 2-0 advantage before half time. Scarlett was always finding space to receive the goal kicks and created a great chance for Harriet, who had another crack from long range that only just fell short. Just before half time, Harriet unfortunately decided it was a good time to pop her knee out (ouch), and her lack of presence was felt immediately. Get better soon H!!

The second half started just as strong, with Bea laying off some great chances to Lola P who had the defense in her back pocket. Lola’s second goal came from one of these, as she outskilled the goalie once more and made it 3-0. Spa managed to get the ball into our half and managed to scramble a corner, which was expertly dealt with by our goalie Hannah and Kamilla, who is never afraid to get her head or body in the way of the ball. Yuchan applied pressure to their attack that prevented them from progressing multiple times. The times in the final 10 minutes where they did progress onto our goal, Chloe was there with well-timed sweeping slide tackles that took us all by surprise and helped us keep the clean sheet. Ishba played the midfield like a fiddle as she dragged them out wide with her then cut in and created some great chances for herself and others, one of which led to our 4th goal. After narrowly missing out on scoring last match, Lola made up for it in buckets by getting herself a great goal just before the final whistle, earning her a hattrick and POTM.

Final score 4-0 UBWFC.
