The 4s vs Bishops Cleeve Ladies 22/10/2023

Unfortunate loss this week for the 4s in our GFA cup match against a team 2 divisions above us (not gonna disclose the goal difference) but it wasn’t entirely bad news! Our spectacular Ishba scored in the second half, and we were only down 4-0 at halftime. The team did an amazing job pushing through the whole match with only one sub with great performances all the way to the end. Player of the match Esther was a wall in goal, effortlessly saving shots left, right, and centre and delivering flawless kicks down the pitch.

The back line put up a strong fight with some great clearances and even a few runs up the line. We didn’t concede on any of their (unfortunately many) offensive corners, and have now figured out the art of a throw in and the offside rule giving for a much more seamless attack. Capucine, Zeinab, and Ishba up top had some great shots on goal, with Lauren, Kamila, and Jemima pulling through with attempts, too.

Overall, I’m very proud of my team this week, especially since we managed to play two divisions with only one substitute. It’s great to see the team coming together, and I’m looking forward to our next league matches!
